A new restaurant with 188 seats opened in Moscow, in the penthouse of a completely reconstructed building built in 1976 (now AZIMUT Hotel Smolenskaya, formerly the Soviet hotel Belgrade). The restaurant is located on the 22-23 floors. The opening took place in December 2019. It was then that the restaurant appeared with a variety of seafood, stunning panoramic views of Moscow and a cozy atmosphere.
To bring their ideas to life, the designers turned to the nature of Sakhalin, Russia's easternmost island, for inspiration. The Central wall is a symbol of mount Lopatina, the highest point of the island. the cascading marble RAW bar is an allusion to the Korsakov plateau with its wavy surface and a complex of ancient sea terraces. The drawing of the bar is a mosaic created by nature itself. And the masters also jewelry glued the stone to get a smooth shape, in which the upper edge overhangs the lower.

INTERIOR
Style: the Easiest way to call it modern and elegant. But some describe our interior as bio-tech, meaning a combination of natural images and nature-inspired forms with technological ways to implement them.
The main idea of the project: I Wanted to combine modern elegance with natural forms and images, with an eco-theme, or rather-to transform the brutality of the nature of Sakhalin island into the elegance of the interior space.
Color scheme: Muted natural colors-gray, light brown, color of patinated yellow metal (brass and Nickel), marsh, rust red, fire orange. That is, the gray color of the city (neutral, elegant, urban) is combined with the gray-blue scale of the sky, complemented in the interior by shades of natural rocks and saturated with brighter accents, also borrowed from nature.
The Sakhalin restaurant is located on the 22-23 floors of the AZIMUT Hotel on Smolenskaya square. It is a two-level space with a 360-degree circular layout, slightly ellipsoid shape, with panoramic Windows and large Windows that offer stunning views of Smolenskaya square and the center of Moscow.
On the 2nd floor of the restaurant there is a wall. One side of the folds is painted in a thick green, the other-in purple. When you go in one direction, the wall is green, and when you go back — purple. And if you look from the corner, you can see both colors.
The interiors have a lot of smooth, streamlined shapes and wavy lines — all this helps to organize a large space, make it whole, comfortable and cozy. "Since the room is originally round, we could not "operate" with squares and tried to round and break lines everywhere — some smooth lines, some chopped. Floor lamps with leather fringe-they seem to grow out of undulating sofas, stretch in an arc and bend over the table.
LIGHTING
I would like to say something special about chandeliers and lamps in General. Their prototype is the Northern lights, but we wanted them to be part of the sky and the city. The mood of the restaurant changes due to lighting. During the day and at night, these are two different objects. And this makes the city look very different.
KITCHEN
This is a new project of restaurateur Boris Zarkov and brand chief of the White Rabbit Family chain Vladimir Mukhin, who wanted to get a modern, beautiful and elegant restaurant. The so-called "tablecloth" restaurant, restaurateurs have their own term, which means an expensive, high-status place with white tablecloths.
WHAT SHOULD I PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO?
Depending on the weather and time of day, the restaurant has a different mood. At sunset: when the bright sunset sun shines, you seem to fly somewhere to the South sea, in a completely different reality. This is impressive. Sakhalin is a truly sunset restaurant.
